The Wood’s lamp can be used to confirm diagnosis when vitiligo is suspected. 白癜风的诊断

Vitiligo is a disease in which skin and hair lose their melanocytes resulting in depigmented patches on the skin, varying in size and shape. Vitiligo can usually be easily seen by the naked eye in dark skinned people. It may however be very difficult to appreciate in fair skinned people because the difference in color of normal and abnormal skin is hardly any.

The Wood’s lamp can be used to confirm diagnosis when vitiligo is suspected. Furthermore, it allows to distinguish vitiligo from an anaemic naevus, pityriasis versicolor and pityriasis alba. In vitiligo, because of loss epidermal melanin, depigmented patches appear bright bluish-white with sharp demarcations in the Wood’s light.

白癜风是一种由于皮肤和头发黑色素细胞的缺失导致皮肤变成脱色斑块的疾病，脱色斑块大小和形状各不相同。 在深色皮肤的人群中，肉眼可以很容易地看到白癜风。 然而，皮肤白皙的人可能很难分辨，因为正常和异常皮肤的颜色差异几乎没有。

当疑似白癜风时，Wood’s灯可用于确诊。 此外，它可以区分白癜风和贫血痣，花斑癣和白色糠疹。 在白癜风中，由于表皮黑色素的损失，脱色斑块呈现明亮的蓝白色，在Wood光线中具有明显的分界线。
